Position Summary:

The Food and Beverage Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support strategic decision-making across menu development, pricing, procurement, inventory management, and customer experience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 Operational Support

    • Coordinate daily food and beverage operations to ensure smooth service delivery.
    • Assist in scheduling programs and tracking implementation.
    • Support the implementation of standard operating procedures and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Inventory & Ordering
    • Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies.
    • Prepare purchase orders and communicate with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
    • Reconcile deliveries with invoices and maintain accurate records.
  • Administrative Duties
    • Maintain organized records, reports, and documentation related to operations.
    • Process invoices and track expenses.
    • Respond to inquiries from guests, employees, and internal teams.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Gather, analyze, and interpret sales, cost, and inventory data.
    • Prepare regular reports highlighting trends, variances, and actionable insights.
    • Evaluate performance of menu items, promotions, and supplier agreements.
  • Menu & Pricing Support
    • Conduct profitability analyses on food and beverage offerings and recommend adjustments to optimize margins.
    • Benchmark pricing against competitors and market trends.
    • Support menu improvement by identifying best-selling and underperforming items.
  • Inventory & Cost Control
    • Analyze inventory turnover rates and suggest improvements in ordering practices.
    • Monitor food and beverage costs to ensure alignment with budgeted targets.
    • Identify and report on areas of waste or inefficiency.
  • Customer Insights & Market Research
    • Evaluate guest feedback, sales patterns, and demographic data to inform menu improvement.
    • Research emerging trends in the food and beverage industry.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in financial analysis, business analytics, or a similar role (preferably in hospitality or food service).
  • 1-3 years of experience in food and beverage operations, catering, or event coordination.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and point-of-sale or inventory software.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with restaurant point-of-sale (POS) data and inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of menu engineering and costing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with procurement practices in food and beverage.
  • Experience coordinating and implementing programs in a multi-location business
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Familiarity of budgeting and cost control principles.

 

Work Environment:

  • Office-based role with occasional visits to restaurant or food service locations.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring adaptability and cross-functional collaboration.

 

Reports To:

Food & Beverage Finance Manager or Director of Operations

 

Salary range:

$50,000 - $60,000/annually
